Our principles are intentionally simple. Inspired by the enduring wisdom of James Madison, we believe liberty flourishes when free people learn to govern together.
1. Freedom Requires Responsibility
We believe freedom is America’s greatest inheritance.
Free speech, free enterprise, religious liberty, private property, and self-government have created unprecedented opportunity and prosperity. But freedom cannot survive without personal responsibility, civic virtue, and respect for the rights of others. Rights and responsibilities travel together.
2. Strong Communities Build a Strong Nation
Government has an important role, but healthy societies are built first by families, neighborhoods, churches, schools, businesses, and civic organizations.
We believe decisions should be made as close to the people as practical, taxpayers deserve responsible stewardship of public funds, and local communities are often best positioned to solve local problems. Strong communities create a stronger Knox County, Tennessee, and America.
3. Coalitions Govern
Republicans will not agree on every issue.
That fact is not a weakness. It is the reality of a free society. The challenge of self-government is not eliminating disagreement but learning how to work together despite it. We believe lasting political success comes from persuasion, cooperation, and building broad coalitions capable of governing effectively. Factions may win nominations. Coalitions win elections and govern.

Inspired by Viktor Frankl’s famous observation that the Statue of Liberty should be joined by a Statue of Responsibility, this image reminds us that freedom endures only when citizens accept responsibility for preserving it.
Our Commitment
The Knox County Republican Coalition exists to advance conservative principles, encourage respectful debate, and strengthen the Republican Party through constructive engagement rather than division.
We seek not unanimity, but unity of purpose.
Strong Enough to Disagree. Wise Enough to Govern.
